Who's Ready to Solve A Murder Mystery?!

There has been a murder.  It is up to you to help solve it.   In your teams of 5- 7 you will explore the homestead seeking out the truth.  Your mission is to collect Evidence Cards spread throughout the house.  You will need to solve clues and race the clock.  Each team is looking for different evidence. As a team you will piece together what actually happened.




If you have a group of 40-60 people you can request a date for a private event. 

If you have a smaller team please still enquire as we can pair you up with other small groups

Teams are 5-7 people, 10 teams per event.

About the Game

The game is played in the Homestead.   Teams wander freely through the homestead seeking clues.    Teams are all allocated a team colour,  and in each room,  they have their own Box to unlock.     Only one team is allowed in each room at a time.  If a team is in the room that your team want to enter,  then you must either wait for them to finish, find another room, grab a drink at the bar,  or nibble on a canape.    Whilst each team is solving the same clues,  they are all seeking a different answer.   On unlocking their box,  they will discover a clue that is pertinent to their individual mission

As there are stairs in the homestead it is recommended that suitable footwear is worn.

Format of the evenings

Platter  Events

  • 7.30pm Platter's and mingling, cash bar open
  • 8.00 pm Welcome and Introduction
  • 8.15 pm Confinement Escape Mystery Game in the Woodlands Homestead
  • 9.15pm   Mystery solved and mingling continue

Dinner Events

  • 6.00pm  Doors Open, mingling, cash bar open
  • 6.30 pm  Welcome and Introduction
  • 6.45 pm Confinement Escape Mystery Game in the Woodlands Homestead
  • 7.45 pm Mystery Solved and mingling continues
  • 8. 00 pm  Buffet Dinner served

Booking Details 

  • If booking separately to secure a group together, email us to let us know you are part of a group  events@confinement.co.nz 
  • Extra charges may apply for some dietary requirements, please ask.
  • Tickets do not include drinks, there is a bar on site for which to purchase drinks
  • Bookings close 10 days prior to event
  • Strictly no door sales
  • These events are R16
  • Ticket / booking reference must be presented on entry 
  • Dates are all dependent on numbers. If event fails to reach 40 people, the night may be cancelled. 
  • As the Homestead is a two-storied building,   players will need to be able to comfortably go and up and down stairs.  Suitable footwear is recommended.   

​Ticket Refunds & Cancellations

Before purchasing tickets, carefully review your event and date selection. Confinement will not offer refunds unless Confinement or Woodlands have been forced to cancel the event themselves due to Covid-19 , being unable to full the event to the required capacity or any other reason that restricts the event from proceeding.  Should the event be cancelled, a postponement  date will be offered.  

The tickets are non refundable.  

Level 2 COVID19 Precautions: Dinner will move from being a buffet to a plated meal,  Canapes will be served at the table Sanitiser stations provided throughout the house for the game.

Stay home if you are showing symptoms. You may not attend if coming from a restricted region. Level 3 Would result in postponement of the the event.
